My motherboard's release date was around 2007, a little bit of time before DDR3 memory modules were presented with motherboards such as the nForce 790i Ultra that supported DDR3. As strong as my system looks, the memory's FSB still is a bit of a bottleneck. Sure makes me wonder if my two GPU's in SLI is too much to throw at a Q6600 LGA775 socket CPU... Neutral

(a picture of it without all of the hardware covering it). I got myself a nice board there. :p

I like the design of that board ^^^

I can't understand though, motherboard manufacturers realize that their high-end boards are marketed to gamers who have big fat beefy dual slot cards, these cards can support up to 3x and 4x SLI, so why is there no big board with room to compensate without losing valuable PCI slots or other PCI-E slots which could be used for other purposes such as a sound card or other components... Isn't very clever.

It's the same reason why there isn't a "perfect" mouse, keyboard, monitor, or mousepad. It's all simple marketing. Why give the consumer everything he needs when you can force him to spend $ to upgrade his current set up or spend $ to purchase a new one?

Why do they keep coming out with new cpu sockets? New video card chips? The ones we have (or are being developed) right now are more than enough to run just about anything the average consumer would EVER need in the foreseeable future. However, having someone pay $500 once every 10 years compared to $500 every 2-3 years is a big difference.

easy peasy lemon squeezy

Yeah it doesn't really make sense, money hungry people :'(
Also I just done that test, it did quite good but bare in mind this is with 4gb running instead of 6gb in tri channel and a 160gb IDE drive as C drive (big fail but not epic Very Happy)

result:

I should really email ASUS about that ram problem.

FTW! EVGA has great support, along with NVIDIA graphics manufacturing with all of these essential features. Such as PhysX™ processors, they really are a help to then newest games out right now. AMD's video cards don't have PhysX™ technology, and when processing snow falling out the sky for a lot of fast movement going across your screen, there's quite the frame rate drop. I know that for a fact using an HD 4850 on Farcry 2 at my friends house. Razz
