There's nothing wrong with 64-bit. The only real reason I can think of for you wanting 32-bit is if your never-ever-ever going to upgrade to more than 4gb of ram. Also you work with extremely old applications which may not work with 64bit operating systems. I highly doubt you fall into any of these two categories. Furthermore, some games actually take advantage of 64-bit operating systems, making the game run smoother where as older games won't take note of this. In the long run, you're better off keeping to your 64-bit operating system, the ability to use more memory is always better than being limited to less.

Merk is right. I had 32 on my computer and 64 on my laptop... then just went 64 across teh board. There is very very few things anymore that arnt compatible with 64 and the RAM expansion could be important later on.

this comp me and my dad are building so and he thought that 32-bit was better for gaming than 64-bit, i didn't know one way or the other and he said "ask your gamer friends which they think is better" so i did

knowing this, it might be my computer when we're done Very Happy

Well... honestly you wont see a difference. I didn't.

But games are getting more complicated. Eventually 4 gigs int going to be enough. It's best to stay 1 step ahead of the grade when it comes to computers.

That said, even if you did get 32, you could always upgrade though. I honestly wouldn't look at that as a major point right now.

But... you would see the same difference if you went from XP to win 7-32 or win 7-64.

There's not many computers that I know of that are any good that still come with XP pre-installed.
